Booking Process

How do I book a babysitter with meide.sg?

The fastest and simplest way is to contact us online and book via the website form HERE – https://baby.meide.sg/book

What happens after I have submitted my online booking for a babysitter?

This is what we will do for you:
1. Contact you back to confirm and clarify any details as required.
2. Inform you of our ability to find a babysitter to best suit your needs.
3. Explain the terms and conditions and collect the one-time platform fee from you.
4. Start the official matching process for you to get your babysitter.

When will I get my babysitter?

We know your urgency. Babies can be “hair-pulling” (literally) tough to handle without a babysitter.
This is why, in our official online booking form, the first few questions ask “when do you require your babysitter?”.
We (meide.sg) will try our very best to meet your desired start date.
Ultimately, how fast you can get your babysitter depends on how fast the matching process is completed.

What is the matching process?

At the point when we begin the official matching process, we would already have substantial information about your baby and family needs. Hence, you can place your attention on caring for your baby whilst we do the intensive work of interviewing and sieving out the suitable babysitter candidates for you. Once this is done, we will contact you back to provide you the details of your shortlisted babysitter(s). Then, you can begin engaging them as soon as possible.

What are the profiles / biodata like for your babysitters?

We have thousands of babysitters (and counting), who are scattered all around Singapore! There are a huge mix of profiles and biodata. These include all races, ethnicities, genders, and nationalities, just to name a few. We have Chinese, Malay, Indian, Filipino, Vietnamese, Burmese, Mixed, and Eurasian profiles. We also have both male and female, but majority are female of course. There are also many babysitters who are citizens and PRs. When you submit your online booking with baby.meide.sg, you will get to specify your preferences and criteria for the kind of babysitter(s) you wish for.

Where are your babysitting locations?

From the mainland Singapore – Tuas to Clementi to Tiong Bahru, to Bedok and Pasir Ris, and Hougang and Punggol, to Woodlands and Choa Chu Kang, we cover it all. Oh, and we serve clientele at Sentosa, Hotels, Ubin and Lazarus Island too!

As long as you are arriving in Singapore as a tourist, guest, or a permanent resident here, we can provide the service for you. We also do mobile babysitting all around the island.

What are the charges altogether?

We summarise all the charges and costs here for you:
1. One time platform fee payable to meide.sg
2. Babysitter salary
There are no GST, no miscellaneous fees and no booking fees!

How much do I need to pay for the babysitter salary?

The average market price is SGD $15 to $30 per hour today.
Nonetheless, it depends on your agreement with the babysitter. Babysitting prices vary according to a few factors that we elaborate in this article here.

For example, the longer and more regular you engage your babysitter, the lower the average rates per hour. Too busy to bother? Contact US @ MEIDE Babysitting HERE NOW to settle all these for you! We always fight for the best rates for you.
MEIDE does not interfere with how much you are paying your babysitter, with one exception. This exception serves to protect interests of our babysitters, so please follow our “Minimum Payment” rule.

Is there a Minimum Payment for my babysitter salary?

Yes, we have a “Minimum Payment” rule.
Depending on your confirmed schedule with the babysitter, meide.sg will decide and inform you of the Minimum Payment required. If you change your schedule after confirmation, we may also change our minimum payment required.
The minimum payment will be either SGD $8 per hour, SGD $69 per day, or $299 per week.

What is the one-time platform fee exactly?

To secure a babysitter with meide.sg, we charge SGD $98 as an one time platform fee.
This fee serves to cover our manpower costs, website and online services, communication services, and time and effort to maintain our solid database of trusted babysitters, establish an efficient workflow, and match your exact needs with the right babysitter.
We are as transparent as it gets with our fees!

What does the platform fee cover?

Please refer to our Q&A on “What is the one-time platform fee exactly?”. Additionally, even after we have secured and reached an agreement between the babysitter, yourself and our company, we will continue to maintain close communication with all parties. We regularly seek comments (including after sales feedback) to ensure our services are top notch!

When do I need to pay?

Only two times technically: first is the “one-time platform fee” after your online booking, and second is directly to the babysitter (as per whatever salary has been negotiated and settled according to agreement).

Can I pay only after the job is done?

1) Babysitter salary
Yes you may pay the babysitter after the job is done. When you decide to pay the babysitter can be settled at the discretion between babysitter and yourself. However, as a responsible hirer, please adhere to the terms of agreement and do not pay less than the minimum rate of salary agreed upon prior to the job.
2) One time platform fee
This fee must be received by our company, before we begin the process of sieving through, interviewing and matching babysitters for you. This is because all these takes up our staff time and energy (sometimes many hours and days), and they too have a family to feed. Please note that we cannot provide you any babysitter particulars, confirmation or services before the fee is received by our company.

What if the babysitter does not turn up on first session?

All our babysitters are vetted thoroughly and undergo a rigorous process of selection and interviewing before we match them to you. One of the reasons why we do what we do is to prevent undesired events such as no-shows!
Nonetheless, we do no proclaim to be 100% perfect. In such rare instances, we are willing to admit the error and make amendments!
First of all, we will conduct an investigation. Secondly, we will keep all parties in the loop. Thirdly, we will try to reconcile the problems. For example, if the babysitter really fell sick (with valid MC proof), we can either provide replacement or re-scheduling. Finally, if reconciliation cannot be reached, we will offer up to 50% refund of your platform fee!
In the extremely rare instance, whereby a babysitter does not show up and has no valid reason or evidence, or becomes uncontactable for >72 hours, we will also offer up to 50% refund of your platform fee. Note that these are only applicable for the first session.

What is your refund policy?

Please refer to the Q&A of “What if the babysitter does not turn up on first session?”. For all other instances, we review refund only via a case by case basis.

How many times do I need to pay?

How many babysitters can I get?

For each platform fee received by our company, you are entitled to one babysitter (after the in depth selection, interviewing and matching process).
If you require more babysitters (eg. for different location, relatives or too many kids), we may charge additional fees (due to higher costs, time and energy required from our end too).
In a rare event, where the babysitter does not show up, or gives you non-resolvable problems^, we can also offer a replacement babysitter for you free-of-charge! * Please refer to our Q&A of “What if the babysitter does not turn up on first session?” too. Note that these are only applicable for the first session.

Will I be entitled to free replacements of babysitters?

During Babysitting

What is the job scope of babysitting?

Extremely lots of things can be done during the babysitting. Our priority is to match your requirements.
We list as many as we can here, but they are non exhaustive. Also, certain parents place priority on certain specific tasks. Hence, during our matching process, we will reiterate the individualized job scope for you again.

What is done during the babysitting?

List of tasks allowed:

Babysitter can take a full body and hair shower after arriving at your place.
Babysitter can change into a fresh set of clothing.
According to your needs, you can instruct or give a list of things to be done first.
Wash baby items, dishes, pacifiers and milk bottles (including the teats, caps and accessories).
Perform sterilization using your preferred method (steam, UV, chemical or cooking boiling water).
Pack and arrange baby and maternal items as per your preferences.
Wash and sterilize breast pump materials (eg. Haakaa, Pump flanges, etc)*
Shower baby*.
Change clothing for baby.
Feeding baby milk or solids or semi solids.
Changing diapers or pants.
Coax baby to sleep.
Play and educate your child.
Supervise homework.
Accompany and fetch children to and fro childcare or school.
Accompany and supervise enrichment or play activities, indoor or outdoor;
Some sitters can even coach swimming, or teach your child to cycle!
Do basic housekeeping or housework. ^
Do basic laundry. ^

* These tasks are more complicated (and there are many different individual preferences), so for the first few times, please guide the babysitter.

What is not included in babysitting?

By default, we do not include these tasks. However, if you require, please inform us and we can discuss if babysitter is willing to help with these:
1. Heavy laundry including handwashing
2. Ironing
3. Heavy housework (eg. scrub toilet, mop whole house, change bedsheets)

4. Cooking
5. Washing dishes for other family members (except for baby)
6. Other items not included in our list of tasks allowed.

Can I get babysitter to do housework?

Yes, only basic housework relevant for the babysitting.
Included: sweep floor, mop selected areas, fold baby clothes, wipe baby table.
Not included: mop entire house, clean toilet or kitchen, handle other family member clothes

Can I get babysitter to do laundry?

Ironing needs to be specifically requested (case by case basis allowed).

What if the babysitter is “not up to standard”, or performs badly?

The very reason of our service to reduce the likelihood of this! However, we do not claim to be 100% error-free. So in such events, we will definitely look deep into the matter. For cases whereby the situation is ambiguous or controversial, we try to achieve reconciliation between all parties. At this moment, this reconciliation service is complimentary for our clients and babysitters!

What if the babysitter is “not up to standard”, or performs badly?

The very reason of our service to reduce the likelihood of this! However, we do not claim to be 100% error-free. So in such events, we will definitely look deep into the matter. For cases whereby the situation is ambiguous or controversial, we try to achieve reconciliation between all parties. At this moment, this reconciliation service is complimentary for our clients and babysitters!

However, in clear cut cases, such as if a babysitter ends up being late persistently (eg. >15 minutes late >50% of the time), we may choose to permanently remove the babysitter from our database or blacklist them. If a babysitter does not follow your instructions blatantly, or spew profanities, we will also take disciplinary actions.
Again, such instances are very rare, given our stringent selection criteria, interviewing and matching process. Did you know? All our babysitters are vetted by professionals!
